Background Story on Robert Yamada
Since August 13th, Robert Yamada’s life has changed forever. Until that afternoon, he was very much like any other 21 year old college student. Robert was working full time for the Egger family meat market with his mom, cousins and uncles. Before the accident, he loved spending days on the boat with his family and friends, swimming, skate boarding, long boarding, wakeboarding, shooting and hunting, dirt bike riding, fishing, and camping during the summer months. During the winter months, he also was a very active skier and snowboarder.
The afternoon had started off like any other summer day, just three friends hanging out at the lake, anticipating college to begin again, and mapping out their futures.
On that afternoon of the 13th, with two friends Sean and Devin, the three ran from the beach into familiar water at
Robert’s parents, John and Renea, unfortunately received the call that every parent fears. They were informed that Robert was on his way to the hospital in a helicopter and to get there at once. When Robert landed, John, Renea, and his bother Jeffery had already arrived, waiting to see him.
Before long, the Trauma Unit doctors realized that Robert had broken his C1 though C4 vertebrae and could not breathe on his own. This is when the family and friends began to gather friends to help pray along with John and Renea. Prayer requests went throughout the

Caringbidge.Org is a support website community where hundreds of friends, family and even strangers can write to Robert and his family for support. This site will keep everyone informed and up to date on all upcoming fund raisers held by the FRIENDS OF ROBERT group, originally set up by Sean’s father. It is the intention of the Friends of Robert group to continue to keep fundraising efforts going to help pay for whatever the insurance won’t cover, and for whatever equipment or needs that Robert might have.
If you want to volunteer, participate or donate prizes for raffles and drawings, please contact one of the following: Aunties Dawn (509) 991-4811, Patty (509) 413-3311 or Linda (509) 998-3312.
Renea, John and Jeffrey have been amazed and sometimes overwhelmed at the support they’ve received. For Robert to know he’s got so much love surrounding and encouraging him, it’s only a matter of time before we see God’s miracles in his life unfold.
Thank you for all you’ve done and continue to do. Words alone seem inadequate for how Robert’s family truly feels about each and every person working hard to keep Robert moving forward in the right direction. God Bless you all.
Robert, John, Renea, Jeffrey and the entire Yamada-Egger family.
